Round the World Wednesday – Design Inspiration from Milan Italy

The internet is such a wonderful thing. It allows you to travel with the stroke of your keyboard and visit places that you may not afford to travel to. I have recently discovered the Maison Moschino hotel in Milan, Italy. Maison Moschino is as fashionable as it is historic, housed in Milan's first rail station that opened in 1840. The building’s exterior facades were restructured to be faithful to the original structure, while the interior was completely interpreted in Moschino’s distinctive style. The hotel’s 65 rooms are inspired by fairy tales and abstract concepts with ball gown beds, rooms designed with a sweet tooth in mind; it all is very “Alice in Wonderland” in its feel.

The hotel’s rooms have such names as Alice’s Room, Blue Room, Clouds Room, The Forest, Sweet Room, Little Red Riding Hood, and Life is a Bed of Roses, which is my favorite. I’m a sucker for anything red or made of roses.

I am in awe of their rooms; they are true works of art. See for yourself:

Let’s start with the Exterior, Lobby and Restaurant

Hope you enjoyed traveling to Milan with me and visiting this impressive hotel.

Until next time….
